Why would a puppy miller surrender a puppy?

There are many reason why puppy mill owners surrender puppies. One of the most common reasons is that they are “too old” to sell or they have health issues.

How old is “too old” to sell a puppy? It all varies. We have seen many puppies just a few months old being surrendered. In recent months, we have seen an increase in the number of puppies coming in to the Puppy Mill Rescue Team.

When it comes to health problems, these puppies have issues from bad breeding and the terrible conditions within the puppy mill.

Some of the most common health problems we see are:

  • heart murmurs
  • cleft palate
  • blind and/or deaf
  • entropion
  • luxating patella
  • missing limbs
  • skin infection or mange
