Our Mission is to give hope and love where there was once none to animals in crisis.

WE ARE…
A 501c3 non profit that rescues dogs from puppy mills and shelters as well as accept owner surrenders and house them with private, volunteer foster families until we find the perfect home.
WE ARE…
An organization that provides transports for puppy mill survivors in Ohio to other rescues on our team along the East Coast (see transports).
WE ARE…
Committed to educating the public about puppy mills and support efforts to eradicate the existence of the inhumane mass dog breeding facilities commonly known as puppy mills. The Puppy Mill Rescue Team promotes choosing pet adoption, over purchasing online or from a pet store, as the vast majority of those are sourced by puppy mills.
OUR BOARD

Meghan is a founding member of PMRT. She currently serves as the primary contact for puppy mill releases needing placement and transport from Ohio. Meghan is based outside Buffalo NY and has been helping save mill dogs for almost a decade and active in rescue almost 15 yrs. She currently has several special needs/medical dogs of her own and enjoys fostering dogs with similar needs or medical issues. Meghan has always been passionate about animals from a young age which has carried over to a professional capacity as well. She currently manages a boarding and daycare facility outside the Buffalo area. Meghan feels strongly about educating the public on puppy mills and how to prevent people from supporting them.

Lisa Jackson is a founding member of PMRT and serves as a Vice President and Secretary of the Board. She also acts as the director for the foster-based rescue division of the team. Lisa is based in Rochester, NY, and has been active in rescue for more than a decade, with hundreds of dogs and cats taking temporary shelter in her home as fosters. Lisa loves working with special-needs dogs: elderly, neonates, cleft palate babies, and other birth defects. Lisa is passionate about mill rescue, networking to get mill releases to safety, educating the public and working to inform public policy to make the needed changes to protect dogs in mass breeding facilities…. until they are no more.

Tara joined Puppy Mill Rescue Team shortly after it formed in 2019 and serves as the Vice President and Director of Vetting. Tara, alongside her husband and boys has been active in rescue for more than 9 years. While she loves to help any and all dogs in need, neonates and sick/injured pups hold a very special place in her heart. These animals don’t start out with a voice, but through the generosity of our fosters, adopters, and donors they are able to thrive.

Kerry Neaf joined PMRT in 2021. She has been volunteering at and fostering for the Buffalo Animal Shelter for over 20 years. Kerry enjoys fostering neonates, complex medical cases, and whelping litters. In addition to foster experience, she brings knowledge from her work on another not-for-profit board where she serves as President. Kerry shares her home with her partner, stepson, and a whole gang of rescued dogs, cats and birds.

Taylor started fostering for Puppy Mill Rescue Team in the Buffalo area in 2019. She, alongside her fiancé Ryan, have welcomed many dogs and puppies into their home since joining the team. She is passionate about our mission of saving mill dogs and has a special love for brachycephalic breeds. Taylor helps with coordinating adoptions through our Petfinder, Facebook posts, and staying connected with our expanding foster team. She is honored to be part of a rescue that always steps up to help and has learned so much from her peers over the years. Together we can save lives!
